New Branding for Successful Pokemon Organized Play Program

Bellevue, WA - August 4, 2010 - The Pokemon Company International introduced the Play! Beginning this Saturday, July 31, through Friday, August 27, players of Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver Versions who have wireless broadband Internet access can receive the Enigma Stone for a chance to catch the amazing, yet elusive, Legendary Pokemon Latias or Latios.

Similar to the other half of the Legendary pair that can be caught normally during gameplay, the Pokemon encountered with the Enigma Stone will be at Level 40. In exchange for the Enigma Stone, Pokemon fans will also get the Soul Dew, a held item that powers up the Special Attack and Special Defense of Latios and Latias. Only Pokemon players who have beaten the Elite Four, claimed the National Pokedex, and have two or fewer Wonder Cards can solve the riddle of the Enigma Stone.

This is from the offical Japanese Pokemon Website

Gochiruzeru is exclusively found in Pokemon Black.

Rankurusu is exclusively found in Pokemon White.

A new Poison-type move called Coil (とぐろをまく;) was named; it has 20 PP, but nothing else is know about it.

With regards to the Pokemon Global Link website, to get an Eeveelution to transfer to Black and White, you need to play a "Pokemon Labyrinth" mini-game. Depending on how far you progress in the game will determine the Eeveelution you receive. The next issue of CoroCoro magazine will be released on August 11th, which is a few days earlier than usual. It will contain a Black and White "Master Document," which will contain new Pokemon as well as a ton of information about the games.

Something New!

Posted on July 3, 2010 at 6:00 AM Comments comments (0)

On July 10th when The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark comes out in theaters, a new promo pack called "LEGEND Perfect Set" will be released for 1,200 yen. The pack features the shiny Entei, Suicune, and Raikou cards that will be in our fall English tins as well as one booster pack from each LEGEND set that has been released up until now (HeartGold Collection, SoulSilver Collection, Revived Legends, Clash at the Summit). The three cards are completely different from the shiny Legendary Beasts that were announced back in April for a raffle campaign, meaning there are two sets of shiny Legendary Beasts now.

Starting on July 27th, a new "Legendary Pokemon Present Campaign" will begin where if you buy any LEGEND-series booster pack, you will be entered into a drawing to win either a set of brand-new Shiny Pokemon or a complete set of the Legendary Pokemon from the LEGEND-era. The first set will feature new Shiny Pokemon promos of Pokemon presented as Legendary Pokemon in Clash at the Summit: shiny Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, Deoxys, Dialga, and Palkia. So far, only Kyogre has been revealed, as you can see above. The second prize set will contain all the Legendary Pokemon from the LEGEND-series, also seen below; . Talk about great prizes to win - you can get all of the Legendary Pokemon released over the past few sets in one swoop or new shiny Pokemon cards!

Pokemon Clash at the Summit

Posted on June 18, 2010 at 8:54 PM Comments comments (0)

The official Pokemon Card website has finally announced Clash at the Summit, the final LEGEND-era set, which we first posted about over two months ago. Pokemon Prime Celebi and Machamp were revealed in addition to artwork for Palkia & Dialga LEGEND, which will be in our HS - Undaunted set. You can read the Primes' translations below. The site also posted new wallpaper for the set, which will be featured on the booster packs - click the thumbnail below for the actual wallpaper. We have also posted translations for two of the set's LEGENDs, which have been floating around on several Japanese blogs.

The site also revealed two new movie promos: "Zorua and Celebi" and "Zoroark and Legendary Pokemon." Both are jumbo cards. The first card's attack is named "Which is Which?" and tells you to switch places with your opponent; you use their deck and they use your's. The second card's attack is named "Clash at the Summit," the set's name. Its attack merely states that Zoroark battles the Legendary Pokemon pictured. Since the two cards are jumbos, they will obviously be banned from play, which is why PCL can make the cards silly and overpowered. You can get one of the jumbos for every two booster packs of Clash at the Summit you buy.

Go to pictures link to see them.

3DS

Posted on June 16, 2010 at 1:23 AM Comments comments (1)

Nintendo just announced details of the 3DS, its next portable game platform, at the E3 convention in Los Angeles. The conference has ended and these are the live notes we took as it was progressing. You can see an image of the 3DS to the right, which you can click for a larger image.

The 3DS basically looks the same as its predecessor, except the top screen is larger at 3.53 inches wide. The top screen does not have touch screen capabilities (like all DS incarnations), though the reason stated is because fingerprint smudges reduce the 3D effect.

The bottom screen is 3.02 inches wide and a touch screen but does NOT feature 3D like the top screen.

As reported before, no 3D glasses are required to experience the 3D effects.

3D movies will be made available on the 3DS from Disney, Warner Bros., and Dreamworks, such as How to Train Your Dragon.

An analog 3D depth slider will allow you to select no 3D or different grades of it. It can "suddenly become 3D." It was stated that they wanted to do this because different people would have different perceptions of the 3D if it was stuck at the same level.

There is a new "slide pad," which allows for 360-degree analog input. The D-pad is still present as well.

There are new motion and gyro sensors, similar to the iPod and iPhone. For example, on Nintendogs, if you tilt your head the dog will tilt its head as well. We're not sure if this is because of the two sensors, the 3DS' player-facing camera (located above the 3D screen, which accounts for the visual motions of a player), or a combination of the two.

The front of the 3DS will feature two camera lenses, which you can use to take 3D photos.

Communication can occur in sleep mode, meaning your 3DS systems can communicate with each other on their own. For example, it can compare save data from your gameplay with other 3DS systems who have data from the same game, sharing content in the process, so that the next time you play the game you will see something different.

In terms of Wi-Fi, the 3DS can automatically download new content without you having to do anything, such as new levels.

The 3DS is compatible with the DSi (we assume this means in terms of wireless connectivity).

The system will, of course, feature better graphics and hardware capabilities.

As of 1 hour and 11 minutes into Nintendo's announcements, they have yet to show an example of the 3DS' 3D.

The 3DS apparently eats people who play it. Players are sucked into a vortex, it makes a chomping motion, and then the people are thrown into games. (At least according to the ad.) :p

Nintendo stated that the 3D cannot be exhibited in a trailer - you have to see it to understand it. A bunch of women just came out with 3DS systems tied to them. They are going to apparently allow people in the audience to play them so that they can experience the 3D effects.

The conference just ended.

The Tracks of Light Pokemon Ranger game has been renamed Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs for its English release and will hit store shelves in fall 2010.

PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure will see its release this upcoming holiday season in America.

7 New Pokemon+ More info

Posted on June 11, 2010 at 8:27 PM Comments comments (0)

The June CoroCoro images have been leaking for several hours now. Seven new Pokemon have been revealed so far. All of the information we know is below. Keep checking back here for more updates! Click the images below to enlarge them.

The white Pokemon is named Chiramii. It is the Chinchilla Pokemon, a Normal-type. Its abilities are Cute Charm and Technician and it knows a new movie called "Sweep Slap," which hits the opponent multiple times. It is 0.4m tall and 5.8kg in weight. The pink Pokemon is named Mun'na . It is the Dream Eater Pokemon, a Psychic-type, and has Forewarn and Synchronize as its abilities. A new attack it knows is "Telekinesis," which makes the opponent float in the air. It is 0.6m tall and 23.3kg in weight. The mechanical Pokemon below is Gear , appropriately titled the Gear Pokemon. It is a Steel-type and its ability is either "Plus" or "Minus." It has a new attack called "Gear Saucer," which you can see it using below - it attacks the opponent multiple times with both of its gears. It is 0.3m tall and weighs 21.0kg.Mamepato  is the Baby Pidgeon Pokemon and is a Normal / Flying type. Its abilities are either "Pidgeon Beast" or "Super Luck." In a screenshot below, Mijumaru tries to lower its Defense, but it doesn't work because one of Mamepato's abilities prevents it. It is 0.3m tall and weighs 2.1kg.Hihidaruma  is the Flaming Pokemon, a Fire-type. Its ability is "Encourage." It is 1.3m tall and weighs 92.9kg.Shimama  is the Charged Pokemon, an Electric-type, and has Lightningrod or Motor Drive as its abilities. It has a new attack called "Wild Volt," which does a lot of damage but also hurts the user. It is 0.8m tall and 29.8kg.Meguroko  is the Desert Crocodile Pokemon, a Ground / Dark type. Its abilities are Intimidate and "Earthquake Spiral," the latter of which raises its Attack stat when it Knocks Out a Pokemon. It is 0.7m tall and weighs 15.2kg.The professor of Isshu is female and named Professor Araragi, as you can see below. She presents a Chiramii to the player in the "World of Pokemon" intro at the start of the game. The rumors we posted yesterday may also be true too, since Professor Araragi's name was among them (some of the rumors have actually been circulating since April, including her name). There is some sort of new in-game connection device called the C Gear. It has "various connection capabilities," though we do not know what that means at this time. To the left of its screenshot below, the magazine says, "What's this screen!?... It looks like a new wireless feature was added!"There is a new wireless feature called Random Match, which you can access from the Global Terminal inside Pokemon Centers. It will allow players to randomly battle other players around the country over Wi-Fi. It then says "You can upload your Black and White save file to the Internet," though for what purposes we do not know at this time.As predicted, Reshiram is Dragon / Fire, standing 3.2m high and weighing 330kg, while Zekrom is Dragon / Electric, standing 2.9m tall and weighing 345kg. It looks like Shokotan really did spill the beans early.Reshiram is the White Yang Pokemon and has "Turbo Blaze" as its ability while Zekrom is the Black Yin Pokemon and has "Terra Voltage" for its ability. To obtain Zorua in the games, you have to transfer the Celebi from the movie download. You can obtain Zorua at Level 10.On the Celebi and Zorua page, one of the screenshots shows your Celebi next to you and Zorua next to another Trainer. This probably confirms that you can have your Pokemon walk behind you again, like in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

I will update with pictures in a moment

Look in the Pictures link to see them!
